Tony Sly
Angie Sly
Tony was born in Eau Claire, Wisconsin and split his childhood between there and Salina, Kansas. At seven years old he officially became an Iowa boy when his family moved to the Quad Cities. Tony graduated from Davenport West High School and joined the US Navy. He was stationed on an aircraft carrier in San Diego, California. At the close of his military career, he moved to Des Moines to live near his mother, who had relocated. This new city was a perfect fit for Tony, who saw big city opportunities with the small-town feel. He loved opportunities to hunt, fish, and bike the trails in and outside the city, and be back home in a short drive. Tony began a new career with the Plumbers Steamfitters Union/Local 33 and worked in the HVAC industry for 27 years. He loved this work and may have stayed forever had it not taken a toll on his body. One conversation with his insurance agent sparked his interest in real estate and that spark remained! In 2014, Tony’s problem-solving skills, determination, and attention to detail had a new arena by which to shine. “Realtor” was his calling and there was no looking back.
Angie was born right here in Iowa! Waterloo to be exact. After brief stints in both California and Minnesota her family moved to Iowa and settled in Clear Lake. After graduating from high school Angie went off to pursue degrees in Public Relations and Psychology at Simpson College in Indianola, Iowa. Her degree complete, she moved to Fort Dodge, Iowa to work as job coach for a federal farm program for the next two years. All of Angie’s family made the move to Des Moines and she decided it was time for her to do the same. She settled in Des Moines and was quick to appreciate the city and all it had to offer. She describes Des Moines as a “small, big town” and loves the options for dining and entertainment. Angie is your “go-to” for suggestions and people call her a ‘connector.’ While living in Des Moines, she began a career in direct sales and spent nearly 20 years growing the company and her own team and credits this career with defining her communication and leadership skills. When the company she loved closed their doors, she reluctantly agreed to join her husband Tony in the world of real estate. Her hesitations faded as she quickly fell in love with her new career and opportunities to help people with one of the largest transactions of their lives.

Tony was born in Eau Claire, Wisconsin and split part of his childhood between there and Salina, Kansas. However, at seven years old he officially became an Iowa boy when his family moved to the Quad Cities area. Tony remained in the area up until graduating from Davenport West High School and choosing to join the US Navy at being stationed on an aircraft carrier in San Diego, California. As his service in the Navy came to a close he decided it was time to head back to Iowa to live near his mother who just recently moved to Des Moines. This new city was a perfect fit for Tony who saw the big city opportunities with the small town feel. He loved that he could hunt, fish and enjoy the many bike trails by day and be back to the city lights all in a short drive. During this time in his life he began a new career with the Plumbers Steamfitters Union/Local 33 and worked in the HVAC industry for 27 years. Tony loved his work and probably would have stayed forever except he knew the physical toll on his body was adding up and changes would need to be made in order to stay healthy and active into old age. It was one talk with his insurance agent in 2014 that sparked his interest in the real estate world and that spark never went out. His problem solving skills mixed with his determination and thorough nature had a new outlet as a real estate agent as there was no looking back.

Angie was born right here in Iowa! Waterloo to be exact. After brief stints in both California and Minnesota her family ended up back here in Iowa to settle in Clear Lake where most of her childhood was spent. After graduating from Clear Lake high school Angie went off to successfully pursue a degree at Simpson College in Indianola, Iowa. After completing her degree Angie headed to Fort Dodge, Iowa to work as job coach for a federal farm program for the next two years. Around this time a few close members of her family made the move to Des Moines and she decided it was time for her to do the same. Angie settled into Des Moines south side and quickly began falling in love with the city and all it had to offer, with special emphasis on dining and entertainment. If you need suggestions then Angie is your go to! While living in Des Moines she began a career in direct sales and spent years helping to grow the company while defining her excellent communication and leadership skills. When the company she loved had to shut their doors after twenty years she decided, albeit reluctantly, that it was time to join her husband Tony in the world of real estate. Her hesitations faded as she quickly fell in love with her new career and the new ways she could use what she knows to help her clients with one of the largest, and oftentimes most stressful, transactions of their lives.
Vince Martorano
Photographer
Vince began his appreciation for photography at Fenton High School in Bensenville, IL where he took every photography course offered. Technology captured his interest in college, and he spent seventeen years in custom configuration, repair, and phone support in the tech and healthcare industries. In the last few years he has transitioned back to what he loves most…..photography. Vince’s early interests had him shooting architecture, nature, and wildlife photos. He ventured into real estate and architectural photography because he enjoys capturing the technique of lines. He is inspired by photographers and architects Adam Mork, Maira Acayaba, Mike Kelley, Ansel Adams, and Frank Lloyd Wright, and is most proud of his work and projects from his early photography career. In 2019 Vince relocated to Des Moines to be closer to family. We love having him as our lead photographer (after being introduced as a client!). Outside photography, Vince likes to travel and enjoys boating.

“Tony did an excellent job assisting us in the search and purchase of our new home. He’s very attentive, knowledgeable, and such a joy to work with! In a normally stressful time, Tony made things very smooth and easy for us. He made it a point to know exactly what we were looking for and found the perfect home quickly. The best decision we made was to call Tony Sly and ask him to find us a new home!”
